In times of Fear, what does it mean to have a Vision?

Yogi Bhajan is very inspiring, however, as he often pointed out in the earlier years in regards to his “followers” that  it is easier to sit in the shelter of the Great Oak, than to face the storm. The problem is that nothing grows in the shadow of the Great Oak. So now that he is not here, what represents the Great Oak? Is it 3Ho, is it KRI, is it Sikhism? and how far out does the shadow go?

This question inspired me to look for answer in his lectures.  So, I started to go back through his lectures and workshops. The first book I opened, His Master Touch, made me laugh. I randomly opened a page and read the following paragraph.

A man came and he said, “I want you to be my Teacher.” I said, “I can’t initiate. What is a Teacher?” He said “I want you as my Teacher.” I said “I am not for sale.” “I want you as my Teacher.” I said “I’m not a teacher. Not for you.” He said, “It’s not written on your forehead. You shall never have a teacher. You have to take many lifetimes”.

The title of the class was “Don’t find a Master, become the Master”. Even beyond the grave, Yogi Ji still has a sense of humor. So, the quest to learn and share continues.

So, I ask myself what does it mean to be on a quest for spirituality. and  This time Mr. Sikhnet provides the answer, again from a Yogi Bhajan lecture

“…Spirituality is when all is gone, and there is nothing to hope for, you become the hope and you are not gone.  That is spirituality.

Have you ever had a dream? A dream that was so real, you could almost touch it? or taste it, just out of reach.  And then have the experience that every single thing that happens subsequently seems to support that dream. No, I’m not going to call it a dream any more. Let’s say “vision” or just Future History. It’s His Story.

Of course there are many paths to achieve a vision, and it matters not which path one takes, whether one takes the long road or the short road, because in the end, it is the Journey that’s important, and the people you meet along the way.

.. and these people become like beacons of light, guiding you along that path.  Almost like their subtle bodies are aware of what’s going on, and just dropping the slightest hint… or you could say that where your attention goes, your energy flows, so you energy flows along the path of your  destiny.

So, let’s say I was to communicate something right now. Is it the vision I am communicating, or an Idea.

My good friend Thomas Clifford gave me the inspiration to realize this through his blog last week. He was talking about communicating a message to people.

You see the root of Communication is Commune and according to wikipedia, a commune is an intentional community of people sharing common interests, property, possessions, resources, work and income. Quite a nice definition really when you think about it, so to communicate is to the act of living from the ideology or values of a commune, and this is exactly what we do with communication. However it’s limited, it’s stifled. because we only share a part of the overall model….

What does it mean to totally communicate with others, in an authentic and truthful way?
